OBLIGATIONS OF REGISTERED CHARITIES

The focus of this presentation is to highlight the responsibilities that accompany registered charity status including receipting of gifts, devotion of resources to charitable activities, other acceptable activities such as related business and fundraising, maintaining adequate books, and the filing of the T3010 Annual Information Return.

REGISTERED CHARITIES MAKING GRANTS

This presentation is focused on CRA Policy for charities making grants to non-qualifies donees; notably to non-profit organizations (NPOs) based in Canada. It includes an overview of the differences between charities and NPOs, the funding environment, and clarity on how charities can operate.
